WOW. SO I bet you have been wondering where I have been. 2 weeks ago this afternoon, Louisville lost power. We were hit by 60-80 mile an hour winds from Ike. The power went out around 130pm right as we got home from church. By Monday they were telling us it would be 5-12 days before the power would be turned on. So, I flew home Tuesday morning with the kids. Dan said the power came on Wed. evening. The power at his work came on Friday. So he had a whole week off of work! Thankfully he is salaried.
I have some amazing photos of the tree that fell down in our front yard. I even have some videos from the wind storm. And the full story from our Neighbor Rich who was under the tree!!!
So, we haven't died or anything. We are ok.
more to come when I get back on Friday...

Formula fiasco/update
Most of you already know this, but Calvin suffers from minor Reflux. It has progressively gotten worse since we put him on formula. This past week he has thrown up/spit up most of his bottles and been unhappy with eating...which is a FIRST! The boy Loves his milk!!! Anyway this morning he threw up pretty much everything he had eaten since last night. It was his worst episode yet. He was very pale and clammy. I took him to the Dr. this morning and she gave us some sample formula that has rice cereal in it, and he has taken 2 bottles so far and hasn't spit up at all:) (but I am not naive enough to think 2 bottles has solved our problem) So, we are going to have to switch his formula starting as soon as I can contact the WIC office. She told me to have them give Calvin a soy-based formula for the next month. She also said we can put rice in his other formula. She wants us to monitor him like this until his 4 month apt and than see how he is doing. If the rice works, than she is going to write him a RX for the new kind she gave us this morning. Please pray that this will work for our big guy! (who weighed in at 17.8 with clothes on)
On a much happier note, he likes to lay with his legs in the air now and look at them. Due to his enormous size, he wont be rolling over anytime soon. But looking at his legs is a start. He was even raising them up and slamming them back down this morning!!!(4:30am) Needless to say, it is cute, but I have been up since 4:30am!
I joined facebook...I felt that most people are doing it, and it is way more popular than blogging. I probably wont keep up my site like I do this, but we'll see. I really just wanted to stay in touch with some of our friends who don't blog.
4 more weeks until our trip home. I am pretty excited. I haven't been home since December. It is going to be pretty jam-packed with visiting though! I have a whole list of people to see and things we are doing...and I believe I have totally forgotten what it is like to travel with a NB. I'm not excited about that part. But the really cool thing is that if he doesn't do well, I can just jump in my van and leave!!! I don't have to wait it out until my plane ride:)
Hannah got her haircut last night. I pretty much was either going to severely harm her or needed to cut it off. I chose the safer route:) Although she wouldn't sit still this time, so you never know, it had potential to be harmful as well:)
I hate tangles!!!!!!!!
And so does Hannah.

50, huh!
This is Hilarious!! Just listen to what she is saying starting about 1/2 through until the end!! (about the 1 min mark).
Gym Class is SO fun!!
Hannah: I think I don't want to go to my gym class anymore.
Anne: Why not?
Hannah: I just don't like it.
Dan: What don't you like?
Hannah: All the fun stuff we do there.

First time
Calvin is "enjoying" his first moments in his walker. He actually likes it now. This video is about a week or 2 old. We put him in it a little early to help him with his neck muscles and to get rid of his flat head. When your head is SO heavy, it is hard to hold it up! As you can see, he likes to bobble.
(and for Hannah...I think she was trying to get attention!)
Happy Birthday Jen!!

Thursday
Calvin went 100% formula Monday afternoon. He went from 5 oz every 3 hours down to 4 oz every 3 hours!! But I have been told that is ok, b/c formula is thicker and stays in their system longer. He does do 5 oz every 3rd bottle or so. But over all he is taking much less per feeding. He is very happy and content though. He LOVES his Milkey!!!!!!!
Tuesday at story hour Hannah kinda embarrassed me a little. It is hard to get embarrassed after you have been a parent for 4+ years but IT CAN still happen!! We go to the Pottery barn Kids story hour every Tuesday morning, and afterwards all the kids get to play with the toys inside the store. Well, Hannah has Crocs this year (like every other kid!!!!...actually I do to!) and recently a new neighbor gave her what Dan so lovingly named "Croc Bling". It is this little yellow smiley that attaches to it. (I know you have all seen them...every kid has them it seems like). Any way...The smiley fell off while we were in the store and she noticed. So she comes running across the store (to where I was shopping) yelling at the top of her lungs "Momma, Momma I lost my Croc Bling!!!!!!" -Yeah. ok. I was pretty red! And keep in mind that we were in a very Yuppy store too! So I definitely got a few looks. I am thinking we should find out what the smiley is really called for future loss. Needless to say, I did search the store and find her Bling!!

Our trip to the "Ocean"
Hope everyone had a great Labor Day!
We sure did. We spent the evening with a few friends from Church at a local park. The kids had a blast on our little walk by the "Ocean". They loved picking up the rocks and sticks (and any other items that were heavy enough) and throwing them into the water.
(gotta LOVE that smile!!)
