It is official now. Calvin has NO problems rolling over. He rolled over at least 3 times through out the night last night and got stuck...The first time was precious, he rolled over and cried for a min. then stopped and in the most sweetest voice, he said perfectly "Mama?" then he waited. Of course it way to cute and I went and turned him over...needless to say it was only cute the first time as the realization that this is going to happen for the next few weeks set in!! I have even turned him back over once since writing this.
Over 30,000 people are still without power as of yesterday. We had a couple from church stay with us Thursday evening. It was fun. I think it really gave them insight to what it is like have kids!! This week was also her first time ever to drive in snow.
Our church has even cancelled Sunday School and evening service tomorrow due the large amount of members still in the dark. Actually they aren't really b/c every one has hooked up with the rest of the members that have electricity. It also been really fun to watch my Teacher friends throughout the week. They were all really excited Tuesday(day 1), somewhat excited Wednesday, and by Thursday when reality hit that they were going to have 4 days off and they would pay for it in June, they weren't excited anymore!! And to top it off the weather guys are saying more snow Monday or Tuesday! Not to mention they will be automatically cancelled if power is still out.

Ice video
A little movie from our Ice Storm. Note the wind and rain are almost blowing Hannah over...
Ice in Louisville
Here are our pictures from the past 2 days of our ice storm! Precipitation has finally stopped falling out of the sky and we are just enjoying the snow until it melts. We are very grateful that we have electricity, while a lot of our friends don't. But we have been able to bless them by providing hot showers and nice meals to them. We even received some phone calls from back home to make sure we were ok. Apparently KY made the national news this week!!
Hannah in her fort.
The next couple of photo's remind me of our storm in September, only there is snow and ice. As you can see, the ice has knocked down several branches and is very thick on everything else.
The tree are very drooped and almost falling over!
You can see the power lines real good in this one!
We tried to order pizza last night, but they were closed. The Schools are on their 3rd snow day today, and Southern is canceled all week b/c of power outages.

3 Cheer-ios for the Bub

Tonight when I picked up Bubby from the nursery he had regurgitated Cheerios on his bib. I asked the worker if he had eaten Cheerios, and she said yes! Then I asked her if he choked, and she said he started to on the first one, but that was all. She told me He was picking them up out of her hand and putting them in his mouth by himself!!!!!!!!!! WOW. I totally underestimated him. I break his puffs up, then put them into his mouth for him and then do a mouth check before I give him more. I guess I don't have to be as cautious now. He is growing up to fast:(
I also had to go buy him bigger nipples for his bottle. We left one at home, but it turns out that it was a happy accident(as we only had 2 anyway). I went ahead and switched him to a different bottle that comes with nipples with bigger holes in them. He wasn't getting the milk out fast enough from the Playtex ones anymore. He likes the new ones a lot, as he drank his 8pm bottle in record time!

"Red Stuff"
Hannah: (to Calvin) "Now Bubby, this is how you eat a french fry. You pick it up like this and then you dip it in the red stuff and then you put it in your mouth like this"
Dan and I thought this was pretty much the cutest thing she has said in a long time. And of course Calvin was thrilled to watch her. Not so much that he didn't get the fry though!! But he really loves his big sister, so it was ok in the end.

The great Attack!

As I was flinging the trash into the dumpster a squirrel came out and attacked me!! Actually I probably scared him more than he scared me...But he did land on my hand before jumping onto the fence. YIKES! It was really like being hit with a stuffed animal. I should be ok...I hope:) I sanitized REALLY well after that.
This afternoon I started letting Hannah ride her bike all the way around the building with out me being with her. This is a huge step for her. I have been pretty controlling as far as letting her not go out of my sight. (considering the area we live in) But I really think she is old enough to handle it this year. And she feels like such a big girl. It is a race though, to see who can meet at the meeting point first, which is always her.
I had to adjust Bubby's car seat to the highest shoulder straps this evening. They were still on the middle slots, so we moved them to the top slots. He has decided that every time we eat, he has to be eating as well. Which is ok at home, but when you are at Costco and eating free samples...it is a little hard to share! Its not like he can eat popcorn chicken and chips and salsa!! I am going to have to bring him snacks now when I know we are going to be eating. The poor thing thinks he is going to starve if food isn't headed in his direction at all times:)

learning to drink
I think we may have one spoiled rotten boy!! He refused to drink his bottle yesterday at church b/c it was cold! A pipe had broken in the building so they shut off the water. I was able to get a bottle of water from the kitchen, but it wasn't warmed up and he refused to drink it. The workers said he finally drank it...2 hours later! We'll be working on this, as this isn't the first or second time he has had to drink cold milk.

7months
He is eating a lot more baby food now too. He can almost do 1/2 a jar a day. The other day he ate rice a roni with us. He is also eating banana puffs and until today cheese. He always pukes after the cheese. lol. He is so cute though. He always opens his mouth wide for the first bite(of baby food), then gives us a "this is gross" look, but will complain if the second and third (ect..) bites are coming quickly!
Hannah has been playing with her new toys all week, so a huge thank you to those who gave her toys last weekend.
This afternoon I asked Hannah to hand me the phone so I could call someone, she picked it up and asked me "Can I dilate it Mom?"

Grand Opening
In our house it is a BIG HUGE deal when they open another Chick-fil-A...especially when it is closer and has a double lane drive up!! Hannah and I were very impressed with the "Chick-fil-A Mobiles" as we were calling the Hummer and Scion in the parking lot. (both decked out in huge cow print) We went grand opening night last Thursday...then we went back Friday night with Dan:) lol. Word has it they are passing out free entree's during the breakfast times this week. Yummy, maybe we'll go back again this week. Darn them for putting in a drive through!!!!!

Mini Trip
We're back! We took a "mini-trip" home this past weekend to see the relatives. It was a very nice time and we had a lot of fun visiting and catching up. Both Mom's had left up their tree's for Hannah to enjoy. And she received some more Christmas presents too.

Over 1/2 way there
Happy 7 Months Calvin!
Wow, our baby is growing up! I can't believe he is on the other side of 1/2 a year old.
Not a whole lot has changed since last month. He is much better at sitting on his own. He can maybe sit for 20-30 seconds, sometimes although rare for longer. Our floor is kinda slippery, so it is easier for him to fall.
He has a high chair now, so he has been doing a lot more of eating baby food. I am not as diligent as I should be, so he doesn't get food every feeding and/or day. He does love carrots! He has tried apple sauce, green beans, squash, rice cereal, cheese, and banana puffs. He really likes bread too. It is really cute to see him open his mouth at the sight of the spoon coming! He LOVES to eat:)
He is definitely on a growing spurt. He has woken up the past few nights hungry, and he has picked up an extra feeding through out the day.
He can also stay up for about 3 hours and 10 min. at a time now, the past few weeks it had been 2 hours 20 min. He dropped his evening nap, so he is very fussy the last hour and 1/2 he awake, but he isn't tired enough to go to bed earlier...
All in all he is as cute as ever and we love him more each day and are so very blessed to have him.

Hmmmm.....
I am very grateful to the woman who tried to take this "nice" shot of me and the kids. This was after the Christmas eve service in the lobby. I just love the look on Calvin and Hannah's faces, esp Calvin. "What am I doing here?"

Happy New Year
Happy New Year!!
Here are the pictures of Tabby Jr Princess Leia. She is turning out to be a great pet! She follows us around in her bowl and watches us closely. Dan even bought her some Blood Worms and she LOVES them. I am going to take a video of her eating them sometime. It is hilarious to see her eat them.
I haven't really set any New Year Resolutions yet. Any suggestions for me?
