So, I know it has been almost a whole month...but here are my pictures of Ike hitting our apartment complex!
We were in church when the wind started blowing. By the time we drove home from church it was crazy insane windy! Dan could hardly drive straight. When we got home we parked our van, and told Hannah to "RUN" straight to the door so a branch wouldn't hit her. Of course we scared her and she froze and started crying! It is amazing sometimes when they really understand you. Branches were falling everywhere. That is what is pictured in the photo below. A huge branch falling as we were entering our Apt. I have no clue what provoked me to take the picture of this tree, but I am sure glad I did. B/c as soon as we got into our apt, Dan looked at me and said he was going to go back out and move the van. We didn't want anything to happen to it! As soon as he got back in, I went out and moved the mustang while he started to make our burritos.. When I got back the electricity was out. So we looked at each other and wondered out loud what to feed Hannah and then BOOM....

The tree (pictured above) fell down!!!!!!!!!
We rushed to the window to see what the noise was, and it was our tree!

In the above picture there is Rich's truck, than an empty space and than the next space after that was where our van had been parked before Dan had moved it 10 minutes before!!!!!!!!!!!!! We would have been down a vehicle had he not moved it when he did. Thank You God!
On the other hand...Rich was under the tree when it fell! He had seen the branches falling and had chose to walk all the way to the other side of the street so as to not get hit by one. Than suddenly he felt something on his back and it was the tree. He is ok, and only had a few scratches. (see video) Praise God! You should have seen his wife, she was slightly scared! (by this time we were ALL outside)

It was incredible how fast maintenance cleared the road. Most of you have been here, but our apt is in the front of the complex, and the road you see is the only way out and in of the complex.
Some people were driving across our lawn to get out(see video).

B/c it was so dark in our apt we spent most of the afternoon outside watching them clear the tree. Hannah had a blast!

LG&E estimated that power would be out for 5-12 days, so the kids and I flew home Tuesday morning. That is the end of "prairie days" for me. Dan said that power came on in our apt Wed evening. And in the theater Friday afternoon.

I would have more pictures, but my camera battery went dead Sunday evening right before the BBQ...As you can tell from the photo above. The flash wouldn't work. But the photo is of us on the plane. It was Calvins first plane ride. Hannah's 15th(+/-)...probably plus.
