Poor Little Mo

We had to take Calvin to the Doctor this afternoon. He was up all last night with breathing problems and a general "I'm in pain" cry. She says he has a virus. So, she gave us some saline drops to give him right before he sleeps and eats. His throat is pretty red too, which could be why he isn't eating very well. He is only eating 1/2 a bottle every hour. BUT...he is 12.8lbs!!!! So, obviously he is doing ok otherwise.

It was funny tonight when I picked up Hannah from VBS, her teacher asked me if Calvin was ok? Hannah had gone and told them all that her baby couldn't breathe!!!!!!!!! They knew he was breathing, but were kinda concerned seeings that was all she knew. LOL. Kids are funny!

Calvin fits into his shoes now, so we had to take a picture. Plus I had to document his first pair of shorts. I bought at Target Tuesday evening for 54cents!!!!!!!!!-size 6mo.

This morning I bent over to take Calvin out of his car seat in the stroller and my friend gasped in utter shock and said:

"Is that really Calvin? He's really porked up since I saw him last" -which was maybe 2 weeks ago...

So, People, I really am telling the truth about the largeness of my child!! His neck is so big that it wont fit in a Pottery Barn Kids baby bib. They are on sale there and I was going to buy him one, but it didn't fit!!!!!!!!! I think I am going to have to make him some...

Too Long!

Yikes...Where to begin?
Sorry it has been SO long since an update! We have been busy with 2 kids and company and life in general.

Calvin is now 6 weeks old, and is growing by leaps and rolls! I don't know if it is my milk or in his genes, but he is turning out the be quite the chub-a-lub! He has 2 (sometimes 3) chins and you should see his thunder thighs. I think he may be storing food for winter in his cheeks too! Very opposite from his Sister who has always looked like a spaghetti noodle. He has already taken in a movie at the theater, been out to eat twice, and to the Zoo! All of which he was very well behaved for. He does good out in public. He actually is always good until it is time to eat. He is now eating 4 oz. every hour and 45min to 2 hours. And believe me...he WILL let us know as soon as it is time to eat!!!! He LOVES his milkey! I had to move his car seat buckles to the highest setting this week, as well as put away all the little clothing. I bet by the end of the week, I'll have to put away more items! He has slept for about 4 hours during his first stretch of night sleep for the past 5 days!! Yeah. It is so refreshing to get 3 full hours of sleep. I can tell a huge difference in my energy level. The only thing though is that he skips a full feeding so he makes up for it by eating every hour and 1/2 the rest of the night...

I had my 6 week check up this morning. All is good. I only have 2 more pounds left until my pre-pregnancy weight. I was visiting with the woman next to me in the waiting room, and found out that her daughter (age 2, who was with her) was born at 28 weeks and stayed in the NICU like Calvin. She had the same Doctors as him. So we were talking about that and life with a preemie in general. I was telling her how huge Calvin looked next to all the other babies (who were 28-35 weeks and about 4 inches long, and 2 lbs ect....) She told me of this lady whose baby was in there at the same time as her daughter. She was 29 weeks and on a business trip here and had to emergency deliver the baby here. Her insurance would NOT pay to have the baby life flighted to her home town in Southern Georgia!!!!!!!!!!! SO the baby had to stay here in the NICU for 4 months and she was only able to come and visit her twice, the grandma came twice also and the Dad came once. They apparently had 4 other children at home as well. Can you imagine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought 8 days was bad. Even 4 months living in the same town would be bad, but 10 hours away. WOW.

Hannah is attending VBS here in our apartment complex this week. She had a blast tonight! They sang a song about fruit falling on your head, and then they got to bonk their heads with their hands!! Apparently that is a lot of fun:) The best I could tell from her is that they are going over the fruit of the Spirit this week.

That is all for now...I know! It is a lot of info. There are pictures coming. I just have to check with Dan to see if he needs any taken for his side jobs before I down load them off the camera. He sells books for a guy here in town. We make a decent profit. All I do is take the pictures, and Dan loads them up to e-bay and we get a certain percentage of the sale!

Mmmm...

At Chick-Fil-A last Friday, if you dressed up like a cow you got a free meal!!! So, of course I dressed Hannah up and we went up there and got her a free meal. I ended up with about 12$ of food for only 1.64$. (I used some coupons as well).

We love Chick-Fil-A!!!

Yeah for Sleep!

Calvin slept 4 1/2 hours last night on his first stretch!! And 5 the night before. YEAH!! It is very nice to be getting a little more sleep. He is growing fast too. I had to put away several clothing items yesterday and get out his big boy clothes!!! I even put him in those overalls his 12 day pictures were taken in and I had to use the 2nd buttons on the straps! How sad...

We went to Sams last night. Hannah and I are addicted to Jumbo Pretzels. And the coke of course! She is almost big enough to fill up the coke herself...We also like the free samples. But the sample ladies were gone for the day already. I also priced diapers and formula while I was there...and it is my firm belief that the price of diapers has sky rocketed in the past 2 years since I bought them last!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm guessing Hannah is tired this morning. It is 930am and she is still sleeping. This is what happens when you don't take a nap and than mommy keeps you out late shopping!

this is a very boring video...But I'm sure the relatives will enjoy it!! for those of you in a hurry, you will miss absolutely nothing :)

2 good shows

Dan and Hannah went to see "Wall-E" Tuesday. Both liked it very much!! Also, I would like to recommend "Get Smart" for you to see. It is the funniest movie I have ever seen. I doubt that I have ever laughed so hard at a movie.

1-Mo dr. apt.

I am in a hurry, but wanted to let you all know that Calvin is growing and doing well. He had his 1-month apt yesterday and is 10.9lbs. That is almost 2 lbs more that his check up 2 weeks ago. He is growing like a weed! He is also eating tons more now as well. He had to go back down to 3 oz every 2 hours. Poor kid can't make it 3 hour right now...probably b/c he is a beast and is growing so much!! He already has clothing that doesn't fit anymore:(

1-Month Update.

Happy 1-month to Calvin today!!!

I can't believe it! Calvin was born 1 month ago. He is growing up too fast. He is doing well though. He is up to 3 oz every feed. Which the past 2 days has been every 2 1/2 hours. I am trying to get him to go longer...but he decided yesterday to pitch a huge fit in which he worked himself up so much that he turned blue for a few seconds. SO...I am letting him eat every 2 1/2 hours right now:) I even tried to give him 4 oz, but he spit it all back out. I think he is going through a growth spurt, b/c he has slept more the past 2 days as well. His 1-month apt is tomorrow. I am anxious to see how much he has grown. I know he has grown in length, b/c I put an outfit on him last night and it wouldn't snap together. He wore it last week and it was fine!

I also figured out how to get him to sleep in his bed. He refuses to sleep there! He will sleep EVERY where else but his bed. I turned on the radio semi-loud and he fell right to sleep. I think it is just to quiet in his room and he couldn't sleep. Our house is a rather noisy place I think.

This is a video of him either Saturday or Friday evening. I was eating my dinner and he was chilling in his swing. I looked over at him and he was batting his kitty. We didn't think he was capable of such a thing yet! He is pretty smart...I guess it is in his genes;)

Nana and Aunt Sarah

We had a great time last week with my Mom and Sister Sarah! We are enjoying a summer filled with lots of guests. Although we are sure they are only coming to see the children!!!

Donde Esta Dora?

Today we went to the Zoo and saw Dora!!

On the way home Hannah asked me "Why was Dora made out of material?" I couldn't help but laugh. It was SO cute.
We also saw our neighbors there!! It was a blessing too, because Calvin was screaming and there was no way I could have taken Hannah's picture while holding him and the diaper bag (we had to leave the stroller out side...due to space issues). We also got there when she started, which turned out to be the perfect time! We only waited in line for about 10 minutes. And by the time we were done with our picture, I'm willing to bet there was at least 300 people behind us in line. I guess it pays to be on time!!

Party Time!!

We were finally able to have Hannah's party last Saturday. It really worked out great though, b/c it was a Big deal for her. And life has revolved around Calvin lately. It was nice to be able to focus on her and make her feel special.

Dan BBQed hot dogs and we had cupcakes. It was all very tasty...and I might add, we are still eating hot dogs!! We weren't sure how many people would come so we made sure we had extra food.





After lunch, the kids were able to go out back to the play ground and play. It was pretty hot, so we only stayed out side for about an hour. They had a lot of fun.







I was going to go all out and make a nice beetle bug car cake for her, but time got away...as it usually does...so we ended up with fun cup cakes. Yellow and purple are Hannah's favorite colors, so that is what we went with instead of a theme party. Plus it is cheaper too!!

I am having a great time this week with my Mom and Sister!! More on our adventures later...It is 330am and I am kinda tired...
