Hey there.
Its me...Anne!
I am just going to have to admit it. With no Internet access it is very hard to update my blog. It is even harder to check e-mail. Calvin has pretty much made it clear that he is a big boy and wont sit in his stroller any more. O well.
January and February have been very busy for us. We made a decently long trip home in Jan. The weather wasn't very nice while we were there, but we still had a lot of fun. I hope to make it home again this summer to show off the baby.
Calvin is now attempting to sleep in his big boy bed. It is NOT going well. You can pray for him. Hannah sleeps on the top bunk now, and is loving it. She even sleeps the whole night through w/o us taking her potty! She wakes herself up now.
She is doing much better in school. Her reading is starting to take off. I can tell b/c when we are out and about she'll try to read signs and labels. We are going next week to a convention to pick out first grade materials. She is excited to be done with K and to start 1st. I don;t think she really understands that it will be the same only harder and more involved!!
This past week was a ruff week for Hannah. We learned that 6 Flags closed. We had promised her we would take her and Calvin for thier Birthdays. I have some other ideas, but this was going to be the best for ML to come with us.
I only have 9 weeks left until MiryLou comes. We are excited yet not for her to come. We are realizing how hard it is going to be with 3 kids. Calvin is now entering the "terrible 2's". The hardest part is not laughing at him when he throws a fit. He is SO cute, and then there is Hannah who is egging him on ect ect....
You can pray that ML comes a week early. Dan has signed up to take comps on April 28th. We are really excited for him to do so this semester since we have already paid for it. This is his last semester of classes and he wants to take the fall off. His book selling business is going well too.
Until next time...

Dec 2009
December has been very busy for us. As I am sure you have figured out. My guess is that the daily blog updates are history!
We took a very very very short trip home the first weekend. It was nice to see the relatives, but unfortunately we didn't get to see all of them or our friends. I will return with the kids in early January to accomplish this.
Mid December I turned 30! Yeah, I was actually excited. Life seems to be getting better each year. Dan had promised me he would wake up with the kids that morning and take care of them, but they slept in until 830...and I couldn't sleep past 8 that day....he still made breakfast though and it was very nice.
Last week we found out that we are having a girl!! Miriam Louise should be here sometime in late April. I'd prefer mid-April, but we shall see.
Hope you are all having a wonderful December!

fall is over
Happy un Fall to everyone now. We are into winter now at the Diffey house. We took down the Fall decorations and now the Christmas decor is up. Bubby is very intrigued by the tree...naturally. We have had to put the ornaments on it several times! I color-coded the presents this year, so the kids know which ones are theirs and Hannah is very excited that she has more under the tree...Little does she know that it is only November 30th. Again this year it took 2 separate days and trys to get the kids' Christmas picture taken...I am on top of it though, I already have my Christmas letter written and proofed!
We are excited to have my grandma this week. She is currently driving here. We are also getting ready for the 3rd annual kids Christmas party on Thursday. I just love hosting this for the kids. They have such a great time.
Only 10 more days and we can announce the gender of our 3rd baby!! We am pretty excited to find out. The name discussion has already started:)
If you have new addresses please send them to me so I can update my address book for Christmas cards.
Thanks

11-12
WOW, a whole month has flown by since I blogged. This morning I went for another OB visit. Baby 3 is doing well. "she" is doing well...That's what the Dr guesses anyway b/c of the high heartbeat:) Hannah should be thrilled if that's true.
Hannah has one more soccer game this week. She is doing much better now. We are even thinking of maybe doing BB. There is a different church here that does a free league for younger kids. Her reading is getting much better. I can tell that she is getting it now.
Calvin has been taking his naps in the twin bed!! Yeah. He loves it. I still haven't done an overnight yet. I think more b/c I am afraid Hannah is going to fall from the top. I am sure Calvin would be ok. He likes being a big boy. He likes "Dorda" and putting the shoes in the shoe basket and throwing away trash this week. I just have to check the trash every now and then b/c he tends to throw away the toys too.

Happy 16 months
Calvin has had a few mile stones this month!! He learned to walk!!!!!!!!! YEAH! We are thrilled to say the least. He favors more of a tottle and then side step. But he is very fast. I think it must be a boy thing. He sure does get where he needs/wants to.
He also has a bigger vocabulary now. I think our favorite new word is "PeeBaa" which is Pizza for those of you who could figure it out:) He can also say "Artur" which is Arthur from the Marc Brown series. He can also tell the difference(by pointing) from DW and Arthur. He still loves dogs and balls and his Happy Apple.
Hannah finally had her first soccer game today. Dan and I laughed pretty hard...it was so cute to see the kids out there. They were all blindly running after the ball. Hannah didn't do too bad...until they made her goalie. The other team scored 4 out of their 5 points on her. She was too concerned about wearing the goalie shirt, and playing with the net. Basically she did ok for her first ever organized sports event. She can't wait for next week!
Math is no longer Hannah's favorite subject. It is "too hard" now. Reading is her favorite.

heart beat!
"Hey Bubs, ABCDEF...can you tell me what comes next? I will give you a treat!!" - Hannah
Calvin took some more steps this morning! But that was it. We keep trying to get him to take more, but he is pretty stubborn about it.
We got to hear the heart beat this afternoon!!! I went yesterday for my first apt. and my Dr. couldn't hear the heartbeat. We decided not to have an ultra-sound done at this time b/c it was going to cost us $200. But today my great friend who is a labor and delivery nurse was able to have one of her Dr.s do an ultra-sound on me!! Yeah, and we heard an nice strong heart beat and saw the baby:)

severe disapoinment
Hannah's first soccer game was rained out this morning. She was pretty bummed. I am pretty bummed to, b/c I wont be able to see her "first" game next week.
I do get the pleasure of opening our home for a Chinese themed shower for a good friend. I am pretty excited for it. I have never hosted anything before so you can imagine my excitement!
We are hoping for good weather tonight so we can go to the annual hot air balloon glow. It has been raining here all week!

Tuesday's update
This week marks some pretty amazing landmarks for Calvin. He took 2 steps on Saturday morning. None since. He has also started talking more. He can say Ball, Bubby, Baby, and Dog...all small animals are Dogs:)
funny quote by Hannah: "Bubby is a pothead."
She thinks it is funny to say "Bubby is a ___head." and then fills in the blank with random items from around the house. This particular time it was pretty funny.

what comes after 2?
3!
Thats right! We are expecting #3 sometime in April. Please pray for us in this new adventure. We are very excited and Hannah is too(only if it is a girl). She has been begging us for a little sister for years now. Even before Calvin. Pray for a healthy baby and safe delivery.
cravings. I haven't been to the Dr yet. But I have been nauseous and have had some VERY interestingRight now I have been craving Taco Bell....I normally HATE Taco Bell!!
Calvin colored all over the freshly painted walls yesterday. There is this amazing thing with the 2nd child. They don't get punished as much as the first! Dan just laughed at him...

this week
This past week I took the kiddo's home to see their relatives. We had a great time visiting, and it was my first time to drive to KC by myself. It went pretty good. Calvin wasn't thrilled to ride in the car that long, but overall he did well.
Right now we are waiting for Hannah in her gym class. She is actually loving it this year. They learn how to act like a different animal each week.
She is also starting soccer in 2 weeks.
Calvin can crawl on carpet only now. But he still prefers his scooth as main mode of transportation. He can say a few more words now: out, all done, up, more, mama, dada, baba.
Dan is still enjoying his new job and we are enjoying having a house.

hey there,
since we don't have Internet it has been challenging for me to blog. So, you'll have to be patient with me. Hannah is in a gym class at the Seminary again this semester. She had a ruff go at it last fall so we took the spring off. She was pretty pumped to come today to say the least. We finally got her bike situation figured out. Long story short...you can't put training wheels on a 20 inch bike.
welp. the comp is out of battery so I guess this is it!!

where have we been?
We are officially into our new home now!! YEAH! We love it more and more each day. We are almost done unpacking. There are still a few boxes here and there, and some re-arranging to do, but it is very livable now.
We had a few set backs moving in. We had hired a guy to refinish the wood floors, but he was very unreliable and we ended up firing him. Thus pushing back the move in date, and not allowing us to have the floors done this summer. We will pursue other options next summer. We did have the kitchen, bathroom and mudroom floors done and they look amazing.
Hannah finally got to play with the girl next door yesterday. (the parents recently divorced and the kids are only over at their Dad's once a week) They spent the afternoon playing in the pool and shooting the water gun at various objects all over the yard. It is nice that they are both screamers...I was able to get some stuff done in the house and know that they were still outside!!
I am sure there are more updates you'd like to hear about, but I am cramped for time and need to do a few more things. We don't have internet at the house, so if you need us please call first, and e-mail second.
I'll leave you with a quote of the week by Hannah:
"I hate our apartment"...I think she likes the new house:)

what a day
Today we got our new fridge and dishwasher. They are pretty cool! We went with black to match the red and white we are putting on the walls. We have come a long way with the house. I am so excited to show you all the pictures once we move and get our other computer set up. All we need to do now to move in is finish painting the bathroom and kitchen areas. Monday we are having the wood floors refinished and at the end of the week we will have the other floors replaced and we will be able to move in then!! Yeah. We are very ready to move. Feel free to stop by and see the progress. Just call us and we can meet you. There is also an amazing park with a track around it on the next street over! Hannah loves it and asks me to take her there every time we are at the house. We will go tomorrow after the AC guy comes.
Last night my wallet was stolen, so today has been pretty hectic making all the calls to get everything canceled and ect. We left the diaper bag in the parking lot at our friends house after home group. My poor friend found it in her dumpster this morning and called me. The weird thing about it is that they opened the bag and just took the wallet. They left the $100 gift card to Target, the $400 camera, and a few other items that would make a good price if resold...I just don't get it. There was NO cash in it...
Calvin has pulled up to a standing position the last 2 days. Just in his bed b.c he doesn't want to be left in there by himself. He has been screaming then standing up and that's how we find him. Why is it so hard to let your second child scream to sleep? Hannah was a great sleeper...that is until she was 17 months and refused to stay in her bed(make the memories stop!!).
