Swing Bubby Swing

Doesn't he look like he has 2 chins here?? So cute. He loves his Johnny Jump Up. Thanks Alicia. This video was taken a few weeks ago...since then he can twist himself around to the left(that's his preferred side anyway!!) and Hannah has been banned from swinging him without us being around. (don't ask).

Dan is on vacation this week, and we are having a nice relaxing week with him. He is almost done with the semester and we are SO excited for that.

Here are some Happy pictures of my cute kids to enjoy on this somber depressing day. But do take hope in the knowledge that God is in control! May he continue to bless us in the midst of this new era in which we live now. Let us pray for our children and their children as well, as the future of our country now rests in their hands! Let us teach them diligently the truths of our faith so that they can make a difference in this world. Also pray that our new president elect will choose to make wise decisions that are for the good of all!! He needs our prayers, as he is not good at making wise choices!!

Bubby has been eating rice cereal once a day for the past 2 weeks. I bet he could do more if I actually took the time to feed him. It is kinda a pain in the butt. Hannah insists on helping...which makes for a "nice" mess to clean up! I have lost track of how many times the bowl has splattered on the floor. I think he will progress fast though, b/c we have already stuck stuff in his mouth for him to taste. Dan gave him pizza last week. He wasn't to fond of the taste, but Dan is very hopefull he will change his mind soon:)

Out of the mouth of Hannah!!

The following took place from 11:30-11:40am (beep beep beep...Can you tell Dan is watching season 6 of the show 24 this week!):

Hannah: Hey Mom, can you tell me a story of when you were little and your Mommy?

Me: Who is my Mommy?

Hannah: Nana is your Mommy!! But I mean your Mommy when you were little.

Me: Nana has always been my Mommy. Even when I was little.

Hannah: No, she is your Mommy now. I want to know about your Mommy when you were like me.

Me: You mean Nana! She is the only Mommy I have ever had.

Hannah: No, I want to hear about your other Mommy.

Me: (thinking in my head how to change the subject)
(long pause...)

Hannah: Are you going to tell Daddy I said that?

Me: YES!!!!!

I will often tell Hannah "you can do that when you are 18 and move out" and it always ends up with her saying that she is going to live with me forever. She wants to grow up and do the chores for me and go to the grocery store for me ect. Here is the recent "help" I will receive when I am "old".

Hannah: When you are old and I come live with you we can go to 6-Flags and I can help you buckle your seat belt.

Me: (laughing) Thanks Hannah!

(in my head: you probably shouldn't ride rides at 6-Flags if you are that old!!)

We were driving to a Birthday Party Friday evening and as we were passing the Mercedes car dealership...

Hannah: Mom, which one of those cars do you think I will buy when I can drive?

Me: I doubt that you will have that kind of money when you are 16. Those cars cost a lot of money.

Hannah: More than our van?

Me: YES. But Daddy said he would save the Mustang for you when you are old enough to drive! That way you don't have to buy a car.

Hannah: O yeah.

Awww Man!

Hannah has been learning how to play the Wii all week. She is getting much better. It is kinda nerve racking though to play with her! She usually just flings the ball down the lane and ends up knocking the pins down. While Dan and I take time to line up the ball with the dots ect. She also is very unfocused, and takes about 6 min per turn.
This morning she finally beat me 159 to 156. But than I came back and decimated her on the next round! She is obsessed with getting a "Sparkle" Ball. (you have to get 1000 pts to get one) It really is kinda cute. I am thinking of having a Wii Bowling party for her and a few of her friends who play.

Calvin in Hannah's costume! It amazes me that they are only 2 weeks apart in Birthdays, but he is SO much bigger than she was. If you read yesterdays blog you noticed that they are only 16 pounds apart, but yet 4 years difference...

Here is a wonderful new recipe that I got from Mary. She served us this YUMMY "HC" last week is home group.

10 cups dry milk powder
4 3/4 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
1 3/4 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
1 3/4 cups powdered non-dairy creamer

In a large mixing bowl, combine milk powder, conf. sugar, cocoa powder, and creamer.

Stir till thoroughly mixed.

Store cocoa mixture in an airtight container.
Makes about 15 cups of mix, or enough for about 45 servings.

For 1 serving, place 1/3 cup of cocoa mixture into mug and pour 3/4 cup of boiling water in. Stir to dissolve.

Thursday

This afternoon I had to take Calvin in for a little visit to the Dr...again. (I personally think we may as well move in up there!) He has had a runny nose and pretty yucky drainage and keeps choking on it. They said he has a viral infection and we are to give him Bennadryl. (sp?) I am becoming an expert at booger suckering...

On a funny/happier note. He weighed 19.6 pounds!!

...Hannah just bowled her highest game ever on Wii bowling!! 179. GO HANNAH!!!

I don't even know where to start;)
Hannah did great until the shots. I knew she was going to freak out...BUT, I didn't and wasn't prepared for how much she freaked. I had to physically hold her down with my whole body!!! And the whole time she was screaming at the top of her lungs "YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME. YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME. STOP IT. AAGGGGGGGGGGGGGH. YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME. I DON'T LIKE THIS. STOP. YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME. AGGGGGGGGGGH!!!!!!" The whole office heard her. I bet they heard her in the parking lot.

She can be a real patience drainer. O, and she is in the 60th percentile for weight. The WIC clinic was way off.

I am now watching our new movie and making some Verse posters for Hannah.

The longest day...

Whew...It is pretty early to be blogging.

Today Hannah is going to her 4 year check up at the Dr. It seems weird to be taking Hannah to the Dr. It seems like we have been taking Calvin right and left this month and now it is finally her turn. I'll post an update late tonight.

We have a VERY busy day today which will feel more busy than we really will be. Esp b/c yesterday we didn't leave the house. (it is pretty clean right now though!!) It is just way way to cold here to be taking Calvin out. He has the cutest coat though.

This morning Hannah gets to wear her costume to Story hour, than we have her Dr. apt, than she has gym class, and this evening there is a Women's Fellowship on campus. We get to take a few cans for them to donate somewhere, and Hannah had a blast helping me pick out stuff to take.

Thats my day...I better go start getting ready for it:)

Calvin's 2nd tooth came in yesterday. He has been really fussy with the second one. But we bought him some origel. We haven't really done anything new to report on. We do have a BIG week coming up with lots of stuff. So come back in a day or 2!!

Guess What?

Calvin got his first tooth!!

We were at Chili's last night(surprise surprise...) and he was a little fussy, so Dan decided to put his finger in Calvin' mouth for him to suck on, and Calvin bit him!! We had NO clue that he had a tooth. He has been slobbery the past week, but don't all babies slobber? Anyway, Dan is very excited that he discovered it first:)
