Where did my tooth go?

Hannah lost her first tooth a few weeks ago. She had banged her head on the bed and the tooth came loose. It took 2 days before it fell out. She wiggled it like crazy! 2 days later we went to lunch at McDonald's. The tooth was in her mouth when we sat down to eat. When we were done we went to the BR to change the babies. Hannah noticed at the time that she had lost the tooth while eating. After some light searching (more for her sake) we concluded that she ate her tooth:) The tooth fairy was still nice to her.
Calvin went around the next week telling people that he had lost a tooth under his tongue!! It was hilarious.

8 months

Happy 8 Months MiriLou
I am guessing she is over 20lbs...not sure. She sure does have some thunder thighs and feels heavy. ML loves to eat! Her favorite food is bananas. She also like applesauce and carrots. ML has started to move backwards when she is on her tummy. Not a huge fan though. Which is just fine with me. I am in no hurry for her to move. We've all seen what happens when they start moving:) She is SO happy! We just love her so much.

GingerBread Village

One of the finer Hotels down town had a Gingerbread village. This village was made entirely of gingerbread and candy. I forget the stats, but it was something like 4000lbs of flour and 3000lbs of sugar, 1900 eggs ect. It was amazing when you think through how someone had to cook and hand decorate the whole thing. I think it took 1500 hours to put together too! My kids weren't that amazed with it. They were more into hanging out with their friends. I enjoyed some adult conversations and got some great shots of the kids.

Happy December

or "Desember" as Hannah was spelling it:)

We are good. Consider this your Christmas letter! (wink wink)
There are no pictures, but I have a few good stories.

Yesterday, Hannah (6 1/2y)lost her first tooth!! She bonked her mouth on her bed the other day and it came loose. She has been wiggling it like crazy the past few days. Yesterday we got new windows so I had to take the kids out all day. While we were eating lunch at a certain restaurant loved by ALL kids, we noticed that she had her tooth before she ate. After lunch while we were changing diapers, she noticed it was gone. We did a short search, more for her sake. Long story short, we are pretty sure she swallowed it! She wrote a super cute letter to the tooth fairy(she knows, we just did it for fun) letting "him" know that she accidentally swallowed her tooth and still wanted money... He was kind:)

Last week Calvin (2 1/2y)got his first big boy hair cut. He looks like he is 5 now. It is crazy. He keeps telling everyone. We think he is pretty proud. I'll work on a picture somehow.

MiriLou (7 1/2 mo)has 2 teeth on the bottom. She is eating stage 2 foods now. She loves rice cereal. She can sit on her own now. This is my favorite stage. You can leave them sitting there and they can't move!

The kids are loving their "count down" to Christmas this year. They decorated the tree, and only 2 ornaments were broken. I haven't even had the time to "re-decorate" it yet. We have been very busy.

Dan was just given more classes at GCU for January. We are very grateful.
Hope you are all doing well.

Growing up

MiriLou actually ate rice cereal this morning and loved it! I am thrilled. She has rejected it on previous trys. She is also sitting up very well now. We still put the boppy behind her, but she is doing really well. And...guess what is is trying to push through!! A little tooth:) We can see a small corner on the bottom. She is a little grumpy because of this, but a little snuggle with Mama and she is good to go.

October's Update

No camera = no pictures. Although I did dig out the old 35mm from college, I couldn't go w/o any pictures of my kids! Let me tell you though...NO ONE develops film anymore and when I did find a place, they only did send out! (lol) It was for a whole week and the pictures were all blue when they came back. I think I will go on Black Friday and get a cheap one. So for now you'll just have to imagine what my kids look like. Crazy how electronics change in such a short time...either that or I have been out of college for a long time(wink wink).

MiriLou is 6 months this week! She is 17.6lbs and 25 inches long if I remember correctly. She peed all over the scale when they were weighing her!! HaHa. It was pretty funny. Definitely a first for my kids:) She is down to 2 naps a day. She has had a bit of a cold this week so she has been sleeping in her car seat at nights. She is fine during the days, but gets stuffy at night. She is a VERY happy baby. All smiles. We have tried rice, but she does not like it. The pediatrician said to just go straight to real foods.

Hannah has 3 soccer games left. She has scored 2 goals this season for her team.

Calvin has matured a lot in the past 2 months. He sleeps in his big boy bed all night now. He stills wakes up very early, but we can live with that. He uses long thought out sentences to let you know what he wants or what he sees. He can climb the ladder at the park!! Hannah couldn't climb the ladder until she was 3 1/2. We are impressed. He is also not afraid of anything at the park. He climbed up the side rail at the top where the slides are(about 20 feet high). And was hanging over it the other day...the rail that is supposed to keep kids from falling off the slides!!!! He is afraid of the "monster" in our house...THANK YOU HANNAH!! Thankfully Dan can destroy ALL monsters! Besides that he is all boy now. He also likes Dora and Cookie Monster now.

Dan is about 2 weeks into teaching online for 2 Universities. In addition to his current job and teaching for his adviser. He is also in charge of the "book stall" at church.

Funny story. A part on our van was recalled yesterday and we took it in this morning. I am pretty sure that ALL Ford Windstars in the greater Louisville area were there:) It was kinda funny. It hadn't even been 24 hours since we got the notice.

I am pretty sure that God gives you children to help with raking leaves. My kids have never had so much fun. I raked the piles and they put them in the trash can. Then we "all" (which means that I did 99%) carried the can to the road and dumped it, then they jumped in them. They even earned a whole dollar. (we are cheap). They kept asking me all day today if we could do it again.

I am sad it gets dark early. It was kinda nice to take the kids to the park in the evening.
We are having a great week and pray that you are too!!

Costume Day

Hannah and Calvin got to do a trial run on their costumes this past weekend. Our friends held a Fall Costume party. The kids all got to wear their costumes. They made a parade to the end of the street and back, painted pumpkins, played games and ate yummy Fall foods.

Dentist Appointments

Hannah and Calvin had their dentist appointments this morning. Hannah did great as usual. This time they did an X-Ray on her. Everything looked great. She does have a spot on the top right that we are going to be keeping an eye on.

This was Calvin's first time going to the dentist. He was very excited until we got there. We had read a book so he knew what to expect. But then once he saw what was about to happen, he would not open his mouth for anything. Finally we had made him made enough that he screamed out and she was able to look in his mouth!! I guess this is the one time when it is OK for him to pitch a fit. It worked to our advantage:)

Yesterday MiriLou turned 5 months. She is continuing to grow bigger each day!

Be ware...this is a long post!

I keep trying to upload the very last ever video of our kids for you to see, but it isn't working!! Here's a little (I mean VERY VERY VERY looooooong) update anyway...

MiriLou is growing by leaps and "rolls". She can roll from her tummy to her back. Although the more we put her on her tummy the less she rolls. I think she likes tummy time now. She is down to 2 naps a day when we stay at home. 3, if it is a busy day of errands. She will be 5 months this weekend.

Hannah has now completed 11 days of First Grade. She loves it, and claims it is easier than K. But what she doesn't realize is that they are doing some serious review before we move on to the new stuff. Plus, I bought more creative materials this year, so there is a lot of coloring pages for her. She starts soccer tonight!!!! Yeah :) 2 of her friends are on her team this year. We are excited. They practice on Mondays and play on Saturdays. Anyone interested in coming to watch, just ask for details. It is pretty humorous watching them play. Its like a herd of little kids all running towards the ball blindly kicking together in mass mass chaos!!! Great times.

Calvin is enjoying pre-pre-school. He is continuing on his sight reading flash cards (HOP 1st grade), ABC flash cards, catechisms, coloring word searches, and doing stickers!! He also plays and watched PBS Kids a lot too. He now takes baths again!!! PTL!!! Actually he has done a 180, we can't get him out of the water now!!!! PTL. This is actually a good problem. He calls it swimming in the ocean. He pretends to be a whale, and let me tell you...when he is done, you'd probably think a whale had been in there!! He is SO VERY excited that it is football season now. He usually falls asleep on the way home from church on Sunday mornings, but this week Dan told him we were going to watch the Colts play, and he stayed awake all the way home, but passed out after about 3 minutes. The boy loves himself some football!!

We have been going to the play ground a lot more now that the weather is cooling off. It is fun watching my kids interact with new "friends". I'd say every other time we go Hannah meets someone I'd really like for her to continue a relationship with...but it is hard when the kids come with their nanny, or Dad or by themselves! O well.

I have their Halloween costumes almost done!! Yeah. We are attending a costume party at the end of the month, so I had to make them early this year. Hannah is going as a soccer ball, Calvin is going as a basket ball and ML is going as a tennis ball.

I will try again tomorrow with the video. Have a great evening.
