Over the years we have come up with several nicknames for our kids. Some cute. Some odd. Some fun!
For Hannah: Peanut, The Nut, Squirrel, Squirrel Girl, Squirrel Pig, Baby Bear, Preciousness, Girl Friend, Girl Friend-O, Friendo...
For Calvin: Little Mo, Mo Mo, Bubby, Bubs, Little Man, Beunos Noche Pablo(that's what we say to him when he is headed to bed), Busteroni, Busteroni pony, Fatty, Buddy, Buddy to the Wuddy, Budman...
We are parents who either love their kids SO much they came up with crazy love names for them...or we are just plain ODD!! (no comments on that though!!)

missed
It is always nice to know when you are loved and missed!! I have had several requests for an update. It seems like a whole week has passed and "no new post" has occurred...SO sorry for all you out there. We are still here:) We have been passing around a sore throat and a bad cough. I am the last to have it. Hopefully we are good to go now and should have more fun posts for you to read this coming week.
Hannah is still doing well with her pre-school. She knows the sounds associated with the letters a,s,d,f,c,g,o and e. She is also learning how to write them correctly on lined paper. I attempted to teach her how to tell time...but that was a quick loss!! I am going to wait till next year. The concept of 3 equalling 15 and so on was too much!
Calvin has been "reading" this week. He is SO fascinated with opening and closing the book covers. It is so cute to watch him. Then he kicks his feet with excitement. He doesn't want you to read it to him though. He is still eating us out of house and home! SO unlike big sister...it is all we can do to get her to eat. (unless it is chocolate)
Dan's professor is coming to dinner tomorrow evening. I am kinda nervous. I did buy the most amazing looking apple pie. We have been to their house before and had a nice time, so I am sure there is nothing to fret over.
I'll try to get some pictures soon.

Bubble Tea

My neighbor from China sent over a cup of what she called Chinese milk. It was amazing, so I asked a girlfriend from church what it was (as my neighbor doesn't speak English...) and she said it was Bubble tea. It tastes like Chai tea only with out the milk, for those of you who like Chai tea. Here is a recipe I found for it. The little "pearls" at the bottom weren't any good...so I don't recommend them! They are starch inside of a pearl-like ball. In my research for the recipe I noticed that this is the latest rage (in the drink world) in Asia. Minus the pearl I thought it was VERY good!
Mix:
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups water
Approximately 32-35 sixteen ounce servings
- Mix sugar and water in a large pot.
- Cook at medium to high heat.
- Once the mixture boils remove from stove immediately.
- Let cool and serve.*Refrigerate any excess

Dan's own Blood - part 2
The other way to tell if you are a true Diffey...Do you LOVE tennis? The past week, this plastic tennis racket has been Calvin's favorite toy to play with. He loves it. Which makes Dan very very happy!! (as you can imagine). We were kinda thinking Bubby would go more of a football route, but maybe there is hope after all:)

Tuff Stuff
Hannah: "Who is stronger than Daddy?"
Me: "No one is stronger than Daddy!"
Hannah: "Muscle Man is!!!!.....I bet 5 Dada's could pick up a car!"
Hannah: "What are those things on Bubby's legs?"
Me: "His knees" (His legs are so fat and rolly polly that when he sits with them straight out, there is an indented line where the knees are!! Apparently to Hannah they don't look normal).
