Hannah's new Bible

We received Hannah's new Bible in the mail this morning and we LOVE it. She has already "read" most of it. And I have read at least 4-5 stories to her already. I highly recommend this Bible for older children. She had out grown all her baby Bibles, and we were ready to move on. This has less pictures and more in depth stories. We LOVE it and wanted you to know. (esp those of you with older kids).

definition please?

tonight the kids were in the tub getting the dirt from the play ground, sweat, and sunscreen(and for Calvin dinner out of the hair) off. As Hannah was splashing water at Calvin she said:

"Whoa Bubby, you are going wa-jacket to the slims!"

I'm not quit sure what that means, but it was pretty funny. If you know, let me know:)

Lazy Spring Days

I just love Spring. I love having the windows open and smelling the fresh air and hearing the birds chirp(but not at 330am), I enjoy the cleaning rush I get, going to yard sales, and just being out side.
Today it hit the 90's. We didn't do a whole lot of outside activities today on account of Calvin trying to get better, but we will. Maybe tomorrow!!
Today Calvin did much better. He fell asleep last night at 520pm. I was a little nervous b/c I wasn't to sure when he would wake up, but he did good. He let me wake up at 615, take a shower then come get him. Hannah even slept in too! (she had passed out during dinner last night at 640pm) I guess my kids were tired last night:) It was nice. I got an extra hour to myself. Which was very nice!

backwards

Calvin likes to go backwards!! Actually he has improved since I took this photo. He had backed himself under the bed and then got stuck. He started crying shortly after this photo, so don't let the smile fool ya.
He is doing a little better today. He only took 2 naps today, and they were longer than 20 minutes:) He is still not drinking his bottle, but he took a sippy with water all day and he is still eating food. Tomorrow should be better, based on today's progress.

Calvin's BAD day

Happy Earth Day!

Calvin has had a ruff week. He has had an upper respiratory infection and is on antibiotics all week. He is very tired due to the meds, and is half starved b/c he isn't eating. He still has wet diapers so the Dr isn't worried. PLUS, he weighed in at a whopping 25lbs yesterday!!! I am not too surprised though. He had to get all new clothes last week.

The past few hours haven't been well for him either. Last night before dinner he fell and busted his lip pretty good(see bottom picture). We thought he was ok, and had just made another fall. But after we picked him up we saw blood. At first I couldn't tell if a tooth had fallen out b/c he ripped the skin off the lip at it looked white, like a tooth. But he is fine now.

He did fall asleep while I was making hot dogs for lunch today(see above). They "little" guy is SO worn out this week.

This morning when he woke up, he had one arm out of his pj's!!!!! I am still trying to figure this one out. The zipper and button were still done!!!

Art Sparks

Even pipe cleaners are yummy!

While my sister was here a few weeks ago, we went to a local museum that has a wonderful area for children to simply run and play in. Everything is interactive and touchable!! I had received a free family pass there last fall, and this was the perfect time to use it. There weren't very many people there and Hannah had a blast. As we were leaving the building, we stopped at the trash can to peel the banana's, Hannah asked us if we could live there:) We will have to return next time family comes...whenever that might be????

In other words...who is coming next?

pop pop pop!

Happy Easter...2 days late

My little bunnies

Almost every Easter we have taken a picture of all the kids at Church. It is a lot of fun to see how the grow up from year to year. This is the first year since we have been here that is way nice enough to be outside. The past couple of years we have had on our winter coats!
Can you find Hannah?

This was tho only shot of Calvin where you could see his Easter tie. He's too cute in it!

Calvin slept through the egg hunt but helped with the opening of the eggs. He loved the "grass" in the basket.

The prefered parent

Every now and then our children will allow us to see which parent is truly their favorite. Honestly you just need to watch the first 20 or so seconds of this movie!!

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. We sure did. It was nice and relaxing in the afternoon preceded by a wonderful service at Church. I have pictures to upload from our weekend. Maybe tomorrow.

Good Clean (homemade) Soap!!

My friend Alicia and her husband have recently started making and selling their own soaps. She has asked that we spread the word. They are wonderful to smell, use and look at, not to mention VERY reasonably priced! Here is the link to her website:

our Musician

Calvin is our budding Musician. He loves to play his xylo-pup and his maraca's. Hannah never really gave the dog a chance, but Calvin loves it. The sound on my camera doesn't do him justice. You may just have to turn the volume down and enjoy his excitement.

Florida Part 5

I totally forgot to write this on the post from our day at Disney. But Hannah's favorite rides were: Splash Mountain, she rode it twice and hasn't stopped talking about it. She has even painted some pictures of it. She also liked Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain as well. Splash Mt was her favorite one though. She really is a dare devil these days, as you can see by the tree climbing. Her athletic abilities are starting to blossom this Spring.

Florida Part 4

I "Love" my little brother!!

After a long day at the beach and some travel the kids weren't to excited to be photographed. So, here is what we got. It really captures their personalities well.

10 down 2 to go!

Calvin turned 10 months yesterday and I barely realized it...that's what happens to your second child!! There has been some huge changes in Calvin this month. For starters he isn't drinking as much bottle now. But he is more than making up for it in the food department. He ate 4 jars of baby food yesterday along with the table food. And snacks in between!! Today at lunch he ate more than Hannah, and I am not joking, just ask the other moms. He ate ham and cheese cubes and 3 cookies(small) and then a whole jar of food, and 30 min later pitched a ft for his bottle!!

He also is becoming mobile. He can roll over on his tummy and push backwards, and also go in a full circle when sitting up by moving his feet. He has been pushing up on his arms a little and my guess is he will be crawling very soon!

He now says 3 words: Baba, Mama, Dada. And I think he is trying to say Hannah. It is really hard to tell though. And they are few and far between.

I am almost sad to see the first year coming to an end. Calvin has been such an easy baby. He is starting to show more of his personality each day. He really enjoys the barn and the animal noises it makes. He is more interactive with Hannah in their play. He even put the food in his mouth the other day when the were cooking. All of a sudden Dan and I hear " NO Bubby NO Bubby NO!!!!!!!!!!!! NO NO!! MAMA!!!!!!!!!!" He had tried to eat the little marshmallows to the hot chocolate. I guess it is kinda pathetic when your kid wil eat wood b/c he loves food so much.

Calvin was also transfered to cloth diapers this month. I actually found a really nice brand that work great and aren't too bad. And they are pretty cute!

But I want to eat the flowers!!

This was a "tree park" in Clewiston by Josh and Cari's home. There were big huge trees for the older kids to climb in. I pictures that I will post later on of that.

Florida part 3

This is Hannah and Benny 3 years ago!

And here they are now!

Calvin and John eating...they didn't get pizza!

On our way from Orlando to Clewiston (where the Vincents live) we stopped at Cari's parents house and then spent the afternoon at a local beach. I HIGHLY recommend everyone going to Jupiter Beach in Florida. We are going to move there!!!! (just kidding...or am I?)
The kids had a blast on the beach and we collected a whole jar of shells and a family rock which we named Jupiter. Cari's parents have a very nice house on a local lake, and a pool in the back. They also have this huge dog which Calvin loved! He loved Calvin too.
