Kids are punny...I mean Funny:)

Last night Hannah and I made Dan "Puppy Chow". It was so funny because she couldn't say puppy chow. She kept saying "Puffy Chowder"!!!!!

Calvin went to nursery during Sunday School today!! This was his first time there. He did really good. Jen said he slept than she held him. Of course he was only there for about 45 min before I came to get him to feed him:) I am glad it worked out. Maybe he can go more often now! we'll see.

Here is the recipe for Puppy Chow:

Melt together: 1 cup chocolate chips, 1/2 cup peanut butter, and 1/4 stick butter

Stir in: 1/4 tsp Vanilla, 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar.

Pour in 9 cups of rice chex cereal.

I put all ingredients in a brown bag and shake really well until every piece is covered than lay out to dry.

Then EAT EAT EAT!!!!

Nothing New...

I really don't have much to say...We have been staying at home this week. It has been nice outside, so we have been going for lots of walks. Calvin is on a great 3 hour routine right now. Which is partly why we have been at home so much. I really wanted to get him on a more strict "baby-wise-ish" schedule. He is doing awesome with sleeping in his bed now!! He is eating 5oz every 3hours. He outgrew all his clothes this past week, and was down to 4 outfits!!! He is SO FAT. But we have wonderful friends who loaned us some bigger clothes so we can make it until it gets colder. And Nana is sending some "fat-boy" clothes as well! Thanks to you both:)

Dan has been VERY busy this week writing tests for his teacher. He thought he was just going to have to grade for him, but then they told him he "gets" to write the tests too:)

We are eagerly looking forward to our little trip home. I have to say "Our trip to KC" when I am talking about it to Hannah(!) She doesn't know what I mean when I say "home". She thinks of our apartment!!!!! But, if you think about it, this IS her home. And definitely Calvin's too....Only 6 more weeks:)

Tornados VS Transformers...

Friday evening our Church hosted a BBQ for the new international students. As we were driving home Hannah asked me "if I could tell her the story of when Daddy and me were eating and the Transformer attacked the restaurant!!"...I started laughing so hard. Than I had to rack my brain to figure out what she was talking about. Than I remembered...Spring 2001, Dan and I were still in college. Actually we weren't even engaged yet! We were eating at a local Mexican restaurant when a Tornado hit the restaurant and the roof of the deck came flying in the window to destroy 1/2 the building. We were ok(obviously).

Fun at the Zoo

Here are Asher and Hannah at the Zoo! I think they had more fun playing together and climbing on things than they did watching the animals:)

Dragon Cuteness!

At School they have a Clothes Closet where you can go and get or take stuff. We love to go! Its like Good Will, but free. Every family can get 4 items per day. And you can go every day if you want. They have every thing really. Dan got new shoes last week, and some books. Hannah has got some new toys and clothes, and I have new shoes too...But today we got the ultimate item!!!! A Dragon costume size 4T!!!!!!!!!!! It is a perfect fit. The only thing wrong is that the excitement from it is keeping Hannah from falling asleep for her once-a-week nap. I need her to be happy and alive and kicking it for our church BBQ tonight. (that starts at her no-nap bedtime). O, and we got Dans new suits here last Fall for Graduation and his interview for the Phd program!!

Here is VERY cute video of her in her new costume and little smile from Calvin. It is more to show you how big he is in his bed. It is a regular pack-n-play size, for those of you who have one, you can compare his size with it.

Bigger Bottle Trauma

Calvin graduated to his "BIG Boy" bottles yesterday afternoon. He had been really fussy after his feedings all week. It is really sad on my part, but it took me a few days to figure it out. He was still hungry. So, we moved him up to 5 ounces Wednesday evening. And than got out the bigger bottles yesterday. Well, we use the Playtex Drop-Ins, and on the side of the Bigger Bottles there are measurements for if you use the 10oz drop-in or a 8oz drop in!! Well...I didn't know this until late late last night when I happened to be looking at the bottle as Calvin was eating. I had been measuring his 5oz with the wrong measurements all afternoon. Which only was 3 feedings. But anyway I had been forcing 7 oz down him!!!!!!!! Poor guy. He did eat it all though, but it was taking him about 30 min each time and once he didn't even come close to finishing the bottle. I was concerned too. B/c is is VERY RARE for the kid to not eat a whole bottle. Poor thing. I kinda felt bad. But I have measured the bottles correctly since and we haven't had any issues since. He is going 2 1/2 to 3 hours between feedings now!!!! And last night he slept from 1030pm until 530am!! And I fed him again around 8am, and he stayed awake for about 35 min and has been sleeping since. (it is 1030am now).

sneak preview...

So, we qualify for WIC again! I went this afternoon and signed us up. Part of the enrollment process is a hemoglobin test. To do this they prick your finger and draw about 3 drops of blood. The woman (being VERY smart!!!!) did Hannah first, and let me tell you---it was a good thing. Hannah started screaming and wouldn't calm down!!! All I could think of was "Boy, was the receptionist at her pediatrics right when she told me to come with help" for Hannah's 4 year apt. Apparently they give your child 4 shots among other kinds of tests when they turn 4. If Hannah freaked out over a 2 second prick of the finger...what on earth is she going to do with 4 shots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am definitely NOT looking forward to the 4yr apt:(

But back to the WIC apt, Hannah weighs 34lbs and is in the 5th percentile for weight!!!! I had to confirm that she was a good eater and that there wasn't anything wrong with her. Apparently they are not to cool with children in the 5th percentile!!!

Calvin on the other hand weighed in at 15.8lbs. Which I find hard to believe b/c i just took him last Wed for his 2 mo and he was only 14.1lbs. He did have his clothes on today though...but still a onesie doesn't weigh that much! She said that it is very possible that he had gained a whole pound since last week! At this rate, he is going to weigh the same as Hannah by the time he is 1 1/2 years old!!

Butter and smiles

This morning when I went to get Calvin, he smiled at me!! This was the first time he smiled at me when I have gone to get him:) It really made my day. Then we went to get "Big Sister" and he sat there and gave us more smiles. He sure is in a good mood today. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that he actually slept last night!!!!!! He hasn't slept the past 3 nights.

And here is a funny story from Hannah: We made layer biscuits for breakfast and when they were done, I asked Hannah to get out the butter. She started laughing and said "Butt-er!!, that sounds like butt!!" than she proceeded to laugh hysterically for what seemed like forever! -I am not joking. It was so funny. I know kids think words like butt are funny, but to come up with it from a simple word like butter! and she is only4. yikes:)

8-19

So...How about the womens gymnastic bars Monday evening? So frustrating!! I think it is kinda funny though that I am so wrapped up in the Olympics that it was bothersome to me. Dan said he was even mad while watching it a work. Normally,I could care less about gymnastics. weird huh?

I had mastitus again last night and this morning. It wasn't as bad as last time. Or, I should say...it didn't last as long. It was pretty painful!!

Dan is still enjoying his classes. He finished editing that commentary. He picked up another class. He says if he takes 3 classes each semester, than he can be done with classes a semester earlier, thus allowing him to ultimately be done sooner. Plus with a PhD here, you pay a flat fee per semester, so it doesn't matter how many classes you take, it is all the same price! (poor guys who only take 1).

Diving

Who is staying up way to late watching the Olympics??
We sure are!!

Hannah is LOVING the springboard diving. She was diving off the couch after watching the women Saturday. I am loving that they play them until 5am. It makes night feedings go by fast.

Dan is enjoying his classes. Although this mornings class was canceled. He got to enjoy a morning off. We doubt it will happen again.

Overall, not much has happened here. Just a lot of TV watching and playing with toys.
Hope you are all having a great week.

2 mo. apt.

Well...Calvin went this afternoon for his 2 month apt. And he weighed in at a whopping 14.1lbs!!!!!!!!!! Lets all say "Fatty!" together :)

He is fine and checked out great. He wont have to go back until he is 4 months. Hannah will go then as well for her 4 year.

Are you all having fun watching the Olympics? I have to admit that I am very amazed at the water polo. I can't even begin to imagine staying afloat that long!! But whats up with their hats? They look like bumble bees. And I must say that men shouldn't do tumble gymnastics!! They should leave that to the girls...

Hannah learned how to water color today! We had to take the van to Indiana to get a tire patched. And I bought her some craft supplies while we were waiting. Water colors being one of them. She is pretty good at it! I had to put ALL 3 of her painting on the fridge!!!!

Buenos Noche!!

pouty lip

I sure don't remember Hannah developing Pouty Lip this early!! Man, I am going to have to be careful. Look how "sad" he looks!

Actually, he is sitting in my lap right now, and is all smiles and giggles. We really haven't seen pouty lip to many times. Hannah prefers him not to pout. She will ask us to make it go away!
