Helmet time!!

Hello,
Wondering where we have been all week? Calvin decided not to sleep laying down Wednesday evening, so I had to sit on the couch all night with him. While keeping him propped up I was able to get a few scattered 1/2 hours of sleep. I decided that this was the final straw. We had thought 3 weeks ago that he had Bronchitis or something but the Dr's said he was fine....WHATEVER. I took him in again on Thursday afternoon and they officially diagnosed him with it. Finally!! They gave him some serious meds and w/in a few hours I could tell a huge difference. He is almost all better...BUT, I have been pretty sick with a head cold since Friday. Dan came home from work yesterday and took one look at me and said "you look terrible"...yeah, I felt it too! Today I am much better. Hannah started getting a fever yesterday afternoon, and is a little stuffy today, but nothing serious yet. She is taking a much needed nap right now.
Needless to say, the 3 of us had to stay home from church this morning. Hannah was pretty bummed b/c she says she was getting a treat in SS this morning. I'm sure they will give her one next week.

Dan has been teaching the youth. They really like him. This Thursday he is teaching for one of his professors. (He gets paid too). He is almost done with the semester.
Hannah is still acting up...I wont go into much detail, as those of you who know what I am talking about will get it. The rest of you---sorry. :) Just PRAY for her!!!!

Calvin started favoring the left side of his body about 3 months ago. He will always turn his head to the Left, and not Right. It has progressively gotten worse over the past couple of months. We have tried everything. Propping him on the Right, we even got a donut pillow for him...but none of these things helped him. He wont even look Right at the TV. His Pediatrician sent him to the kids hospital for X-rays to make sure there was nothing wrong with his bone structure. There isn't. Praise the Lord!! Then they sent us down town to a Plastic Surgeon to be evaluated for the possibility of getting a helmet. The Dr. and his staff measured his head and when measured in an X across the top, there is a 2cm difference. When measured from ear to nose, there is a 1 ½ difference. His left ear sits much closer to his nose. This is considered moderate to severe! We then took him last Monday to the prosthetics Dr to be measured and fitted for the helmet. We take him back on Tuesday to pick it up. He will have to wear it for 22 hours a day until they say otherwise. Please pray for “Bubby” as he is getting over being sick and now getting a helmet. They say it takes a few weeks to adjust.

Go Colts!

He'll be ok. I have some friends that have had to do the same and you'll be amazed how kids improve. It may be hard at first to get use to it but You'll make it. If you have any questions I can contact you with some of my friends.
Best Wishes,

Silvia
